Island Rangers fan kinda hoping that Manchester Police have closed investigation
Rangers fan Norman John MacIver, from Plasterfield, was delighted to mark the tenth anniversary of Rangers’ Uefa Cup Final appearance yesterday by posting up some pictures of him and his fellow members of the Ceàrns and District Loyal drinking cans in the sun.
“Manchester was a riot! Great craic with the Bear Coves! Some day for one day! Stevie G will have us back here soon. Watch out Celtic. #fourladshadadream” said Norman John in his instagram post.
However, the defeat by Dick Advocaat’s Zenit St Petersburg in 2008 saw some Rangers fans rioting in Manchester City Centre because a telly broke. Eleven individuals were given prison sentences, but Mr MacIver is hoping that there is some kind of statue of limitations on that type of thing.
“I wanted to post them up on Bebo at the time but I couldn’t,” said Norman John, “mostly because one of them showed Seonaidh Laxdale punching a police horse. Sure it’ll be grand now, we went down to Manchester to play Fergie and everyone got along and Seonaidh or me didn’t get lifted.”
“I’d post up the video of us singing the Billy Boys to the riot police, ach fhios ‘ ad, the resolution and sound quality on those old nokias was terrible.”
