Russian Twitterbot named head of PR at Bòrd na Gàidhlig

Bòrd na Gàidhlig, the national Gaelic development agency for Scotland, has appointed a new Head of Media relations.

Russian Twitterbot @crimea.ru94 successfully beat all the human candidates to secure the well-paid job based at Taigh a’ Ghlinne Mhòir in Inverness.

A spokesperson for the Bòrd said; “We felt that with the advances in Google translate, nothing should really stand in @crimea.ru94’s way. We were impressed by the Twitterbots Artificial Intelligence and its ability to convince idiots in America that there were plans to have Gaelic Road-signs in Florida if they didn’t return a Republican governor. If we can harness that energy for the good of Gaelic, it’ll be fantastic.”

“It doesn’t have the same stress on our tea and biscuit budget as a human, and it runs for a a few roubles a month. We’ve even added 10,293 new ‘followers’ already. The Twitterbot will also automatically reply to any antiGaelic statuses with a gif of Taylor Swift throwing shade and then tag in Marcus Mac an Tuairneir and Arthur Cormack to let them deal with the amadan as per usual.”
