46th G7 Summit to be held at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig

With the 45th G7 Summit set for Biarritz in France for 2019, the grouping of International powers has announced that the 2020 running will be held at Scotland’s Gaelic College, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.

A spokesman for the UK Government said, “We’ve wanted to hold the summit in Sleat for a while, but there wasn’t enough accommodation until the new Kilbeg development started to come on line.”

“The Donald will obviously have the Penthouse, but the rest of the leaders will be billeted up and down the road to ensure a good spread. Angela Merkel was here on a summer course in 2003 so she knows the area well and C-Block’s utilitarian nature appealed to her Ostalgie.”

It’s hoped that the summit, which brings together the leaders of the US, UK, Italy, Germany, Canada, France and Japan, will have an economic boost. “Prime Minister Trudeau has an old friend who works behind the bar at Gasta, so he’ll be available for selfies. He’s also got that dreamboat Hearach look about him, so Young Films are hopeful that he’ll do a cameo as Alasdair’s long lost Canadian cousin in Bannan.”

However, security will be tight in the Garden of Skye. An iron ring will be put in place from Toravaig round to Ord. around Bun Sgoil Shleite and down past Ardvasar, placing Aird of Sleat outwith the security barrier. Some locals have already asked for this to remain in place after the summit to keep the Aird folk out.

When asked if Prime Minister Theresa May was looking forward to the summit. The spokesperson said “Hahahahaha, she’ll be doing well if she’s in a job by this year’s Comann nan Oileanach Oidhche Shamhna Party.”
